Emmanuel Joseph Cadet, age 63, passed away of multiple organ failure on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021, with family by his side at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD.
Emmanuel is survived by his wife Sally Ann Bird of Silver Spring, MD and former spouse Constance Occident; his four children Christine V. Cadet, Christopher R. M. Cadet, Emmanuel A. Cadet and Gabriel J. Cadet, and his siblings Josette Cadet Poitevien, Jacqueline Cadet, Gladys Cadet Duc, Altagrâce Cadet Larose, Annette Cadet, Emmelyne Cadet Maximé, Monique Edna Cadet Désir, Alice Phillipe-Auguste, Erica Jean Gilles, Edith Excellent, Fritz Merville as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Virginie Cadet and brother Jerome Marc Cadet.
Emmanuel was born on March 25th,1958 in Saint Marc, Haiti, to his late parents Gaston and Bernadette Cadet (nee Jean Gilles). In the late 70s Emmanuel moved to Brooklyn, New York where he lived for 10 years before moving to Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife and daughter. In the 30+ years of living in Maryland Emmanuel had three sons.
Emmanuel was a great family man and a loving father. He was a very social, active man who was deeply involved in the Haitian community for the majority of his life. He was a devout Catholic attending daily service and Sunday mass. He enjoyed helping friends and family, going to the movies with his children, and music. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and dependable person.
A viewing is schedule for Friday, October 8th, 2021, at Rinaldi Funeral home from 6pm to 8pm located at 9241 Columbia Blvd, Silver Spring, MD 20910. On Saturday, October 9th, 2021, visitation, and mass service at St. John the Baptist at 10AM which is located at 12319 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904. Father David Brault will officiate the mass and Father Luc will provide words of comfort during the visitation. After the funeral there will be a reception to follow at VFW Wheaton at 11316 Fern St. Wheaton MD.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Emmanuel’s life. Please remember that in the time of Covid masks are required inside the Church and the reception hall. Please keep in mind that all COVID-19 restrictions and safety precautions will be taken during the visitation hour and funeral service. Masks will be required.
