Joyce Elaine Parreco

Joyce Elaine Parreco, 87 of Silver Spring, MD, passed away October 17, 2017 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD.  Born on June 11, 1930 in Warren PA, she was the daughter of the late Susie and Orrie Beebe.

Joyce was a registered nurse, mother, and homemaker.  For many years, Joyce was an advocate for children with learning disabilities, and participated in the development of federal laws which delivered rights to all individuals with disabilities. Joyce enjoyed many creative hobbies, including weaving, music, gardening, and art. She was also an avid reader of medical research. Joyce was a faithful Catholic who attended Mass at the Holy Family Seminary for almost 50 years, where she also sang in the choir.

Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Spencer Beebe. She is survived by her sister, Maxine Beebe Hufnagel, her seven children, Theresa Elaine Parreco, Theodore James (Shu-Chen Lee) Parreco, David Scott Parreco, Leslie Ann Parreco, Stephen Quintus (Maureen Elizabeth) Parreco, Wendy Parreco (Simon “Oscar”) Bond, Jill Susanne Parreco (Norman Understein), and seven grandchildren, James Theodore Parreco, Thomas Buck Parreco, Faith Rose Parreco, Morgan Spencer Bond, Audrey Claire Bond, Brian Ross Understein, Matthew James Understein.

Viewing will be on Friday November 3rd, 2017 from 7PM to 9PM at Philip D Rinaldi Funeral Service, 9241 Columbia Blvd, Silver Spring, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Saturday November 4th, 2017 at Saint Andrew Apostle Catholic Church, 11600 Kemp Mill Rd, Silver Spring, MD. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD, followed by a gathering for family and friends.
